Mornings in the Garden at Easter Lake

Rain gardens, pollinator gardens, and other native plantings across the Polk County park system provide a wide variety of benefits for wildlife, water quality, education, and even social connections. Join us on select Tuesday mornings at Easter Lake Park and dive into the world of native plants to make a positive impact in PCC gardens this growing season.
By attending these events you’ll broaden your native plant knowledge as it relates to conservation, maintenance, ecology, and how to start your own native garden at home. Tuesday garden events in will have seasonal focuses on the identification of native species & weeds, and general information about native gardens, rain gardens, and environmental benefits.
ACTIVITY: Gardening (weeding, planting, mulching) PHYSICAL DIFFICULTY: Easy, Moderate
REGISTRATION: Required – opens May 15 *By registering for this event, I acknowledge that it may include a registration waitlist. In the event that I and/or members of my group are unable to attend, I will cancel my registration to allow others to join this event. DEADLINE: Register by noon June 26, 2023

WHAT TO BRING: It is recommended to dress for the weather, wear long pants, and closed-toe shoes. Bring a refillable water bottle and garden gloves if you have them. Gloves will be provided for those without. Each event participant will be provided with proper personal protective equipment and training as needed.
